Dear Parents & Carers,
It is that time of year again when we are accepting Kindergarten 2026 enrolments, so if you have a child who will be joining us at PEPS next year, please complete an online enrolment, this will ensure that you will be informed of all our Kindergarten events that will be happening from Term 3. We have a school tour planned for Monday 16th June for any new Kindergarten 2026 parents. Please ring the school and leave your name if you would like to attend.
Well done to our all students who competed in the Zone Cross Country today at Greystanes Sports Ground. Due to wet weather our K-2 Cross Country has been postponed until next Wednesday 11th June, 2025.
We have our Teddy Bear’s Picnic coming up on Wednesday 25th June, so don’t forget to order your sausages online by Tuesday 10th June and join your child/ren for a picnic lunch on the day from 1:30pm. All parents and carers are welcome to attend. Please ensure that all teddy bears are labelled with your child’s name.
Just a reminder to all parents, next Monday is a Public Holiday and school will be closed. Enjoy your long weekend.

Reconciliation Week - Bridging Now to Next

KBurudyara have been enthusiastically participating in various activities during Literacy Group time. Each activity is designed to enhance our reading and writing skills. We began with a cut-and-paste letter sound sorting task, where we matched pictures to their corresponding initial sounds. Next, we focused on identifying the initial sounds in various pictures. This was followed by a letter tracing exercise to improve our letter formation. Finally, we engaged in a magic words game to reinforce our recognition of high-frequency words.
This term, our Stage 3 Science unit is exploring the different forms of energy and how it's transformed and transferred. Roary and 6 Freeman were buzzing with excitement as they explored the world of electrical circuits. Using batteries, wires and light bulbs, they built their own working circuits and discovered how electricity can flow to power everyday objects. It was a hands-on learning experience that truly lit up the classroom! These budding electricians were impressive with their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and scientific curiosity.
4 Wombady Persuasive Writers at Work!
This term, our talented Year 4 students have been busy becoming persuasive writing experts! Each student chose a topic they felt passionate about and crafted a convincing argument using powerful language techniques. After drafting and refining their ideas, they proudly published their work, complete with images and GIFs to add extra flair and meaning! Now, they’re preparing presentations to persuade their classmates to see things their way. We’re so proud of their creativity, confidence, and growing communication skills!
Marvellous Mathematicians in 1 Burra
- We have learnt how to make skip counting patterns by referring to hundreds charts and using counters to physically make patterns.
- We have then used our 100 bead strings to make groups of tens, fives, and twos to show how we can group numbers together and then skip count the totals.
- The marvellous mathematicians we are - we have then used that knowledge to build number lines of skip counting.
- We have also been looking at what patterns we can identify when we look at a group of numbers.

This week K-2 students had a visit from the local council program ‘Responsible Pets’. This program was aimed at demonstrating to children how to approach dogs safely in the community. All children were excited to meet the dog , join in on role plays and pat the dog in turns.

At PEPS, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all our students. To further this commitment, we have partnered with Life Skills Group to implement the Life Skills GO program. This evidence-based, online platform is designed to nurture the social, emotional, and physical development of your child, equipping them to thrive both in school and in life.
It involves the students checking in regularly in class with their teachers, using a digital check-in tool. Our decision to adopt Life Skills GO is driven by the need to implement trauma-informed practices that enhance student engagement, improve classroom behaviour, and boost learning achievement. By doing so, we aim to create a positive classroom environment that leads to better attendance rates, fosters a safe and supportive atmosphere, and ensures that every student feels secure, valued, and capable of academic success.
This initiative is not just about immediate outcomes but about building a resilient and thriving school community where all students can reach their full potential. We believe that by investing in the well-being of our students, we are laying the foundation for their future success. It will take time for this to be well integrated into our school routine. We thank you for your ongoing support whilst we do so.
