Reconciliation Week - Bridging Now to Next
Last week, our school proudly celebrated National Reconciliation Week under this year’s inspiring theme: "Bridging Now to Next."
As part of our school’s commitment to reconciliation, all students participated in 'Wear It Yellow Day', donning bright yellow to show their support for Children’s Ground, a foundation dedicated to supporting Indigenous youth. Together, our school community raised $240—a fantastic effort that will go toward creating better futures for First Nations children.
Each class created a beautiful Reconciliation Heart, reflecting their understanding of reconciliation and what it means to come together in unity and respect. These hearts are now proudly displayed along our school fence, a powerful symbol of our collective commitment. In addition, every student made their own individual heart, adding a personal touch to this important message.
As our senior students, Year 6 were specially chosen to acknowledge and learn about the significance of National Sorry Day, deepening their understanding of its importance and the lasting impact of the Stolen Generations on Indigenous Australians.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their thoughtful engagement and for taking real steps toward reconciliation—today, and into the future.
