1 Burra has been learning all about recognising and creating number patterns in our mathematics lessons recently.
How do I skip count ? Oh let me count the ways ...
- We have learnt how to make skip counting patterns by referring to hundreds charts and using counters to physically make patterns.
- We have then used our 100 bead strings to make groups of tens, fives, and twos to show how we can group numbers together and then skip count the totals.
- The marvellous mathematicians we are - we have then used that knowledge to build number lines of skip counting.
- We have also been looking at what patterns we can identify when we look at a group of numbers.
