5 Goolagong
5 Goolagong have been busy finishing off projects before the end of term. In Mathematics, we’ve been diving into division and learning to use a range of efficient strategies to solve division problems. To get our bodies moving and prepare for the upcoming Jumpathon competition, we’ve also been practising our skipping each week. In Science, we’ve been working hands-on with circuits to create exciting electrical projects. Our writing focus has been persuasive texts, where students have carefully planned and cited evidence on the important topic of climate change and how we can help our planet. In History, students have been learning about the Gold Rush and presented some really interesting homework, including time capsule boxes and diary entries that reflected life during this significant period. In Social Skills, we’ve explored resilience - what it means, and how we can demonstrate it in our everyday lives. Students have also been encouraged to apply these skills when collaborating with peers from other Stage 3 classes, showing patience, cooperation, and a willingness to try again when challenges arise.
