As part of our "Talk for Writing" program, 2 Gunggung has been learning about the tools and techniques involved in creating informative texts. We began by reading and analysing a range of well-written examples on a variety of topics, before moving on to planning and writing our own.

Each student chose an Australian animal to research and wrote an informative piece, which they then published using the school laptops. The results were creative, engaging, and packed with interesting facts.

With our drafts complete, we turned our attention to developing our editing and reflection skills. Students shared constructive feedback with one another, and everyone was able to identify something in their own writing to revise or improve. It was wonderful to see such thoughtful collaboration and pride in their work.
