2 Wirambi
In History, 2 Wirambi have been comparing how technology and items have changed over time. We studied original Australian homesteads and discovered that there were no ovens, so people would have to cook over open fireplaces and have a shed to store firewood. There was no electricity so to keep houses cool they would have big open windows, hallways with a door on either side, and long verandas that wrap around a house. Our new favourite word is ’thunderbox’ or ‘dunny’ which is what Australians would call an outdoor toilet as there was no indoor plumbing. We then drew homesteads and tried to include some of these features.
