Public Speaking
On Thursday 4th September we had four talented PEPS students attend the Metropolitan South and Metropolitan South and West Public Speaking Competition Parramatta Network Final which included 15 schools from our area. We had Amira El Hayek (Early Stage 1), Amyra Nayak (Stage 1), Harrison Irrgang (Stage 2) and Khadijah Irfan (Stage 3) all do our school proud by delivering both a prepared and impromptu speech against tough competition.
Amira was awarded "Highly Commended" for her convincing speech about why all parents should take their children to the park every day, and for her impromptu speech about a magnifying glass.
A big congratulations to Amyra who won the Stage 1 competition by persuading the audience in her prepared speech that primary school children should help design their own bedroom, and by sharing why family time is important in her impromptu speech. She was a gracious and deserving winner and now will move through to the next level of the competition as the Parramatta Network representative where all 19 networks will be represented at the grand final. We all wish Amyra the best of luck!
