K/1 Gilbanung have had a wonderfully busy and exciting start to Term 3. We’ve been diving into imaginative texts during our writing sessions, where students are learning how to create stories full of interesting characters, settings, and magical adventures. It’s been amazing to see their creativity shine as they develop their own ideas and share them with the class.

In mathematics, we’ve been focusing on volume and capacity. Using hands-on materials like water, sand, and containers of all shapes and sizes, students have been making estimations and then testing them to see how accurate they are. These practical activities have helped bring maths to life and have encouraged lots of great thinking and problem-solving.

One of the biggest highlights so far has been our very first Kitchen Garden lesson! The students were absolutely thrilled to get outside and start exploring the garden space. We talked about the importance of sustainability and how growing our own food can help take care of the environment. Everyone is looking forward to getting their hands dirty and learning more about planting, harvesting, and healthy eating in the coming weeks.

Term 3 is off to a fantastic start, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings!
