Dear Parents and Carers,
Our 75th Birthday Celebrations are getting closer and closer.
We cannot thank our school community enough for all of your support and assistance so far.
The last couple of things that we require are international food donations for our students, staff, parents and wider community to purchase and enjoy on the day as well as baked goods for the same.
If you are able to assist us with this please make sure that you reply to the requests sent out and drop food donations in on the morning of the fete.
Also, don’t forget to organise a day off work to come and enjoy the fete with your children for the day and spread the word amongst family and friends!
Seeking food donations for the fete
We're still hoping for more donations for our international food stall on Friday 20th September. Our vision is to have a large selection of dishes to choose from so that our guests can fill their plates with the wonderful flavours of the world (including Australian cuisine if that's your specialty!)
We would love for you to consider donating something that can be easily served up on the day. It doesn't need to be fancy!
Please complete the online form to indicate your intention to contribute:https://forms.gle/R2DwwoWUPmRZi5ieA
Thank you in advance!
Dear PEPS community, on Friday 30th August we will be joining a community awareness day to raise awareness for organ donation. All students and community members are encouraged to wear a jersey from their favourite team. This is NOT a fundraiser but a day to discuss with students about what organ donation is. Please send your children along in a jersey if they have one at home. We look forward to seeing all the colours from our favourite teams.
K/1 Gula love to put their actions into writing!
This term we have enjoyed many different experiences that we could write about. We have learnt how to make a cress head..... and then wrote the procedure! It was so much fun to watch the seeds grow! After that, it was time to learn how to make a pencil cup holder! We found that it took a few tries to get the weaving action working but we kept going .... Again, we wrote about it! Finally, we went on an adventure around the school following a Ye Pirate Training Map learning pirate skills such as target practice and searching the sea for all 68 ships, all to end up at the big tree of treasure! This experience will jump us into our new writing text Pirate Tom. We can't wait to write more adventure stories!!
Our Stage 3 students cooked and tasted Trombone Squash Tacos with Pico de Gallo salsa. The tacos were made with authentic Mexican style corn tortillas donated from Fireworks Foods in North Rocks. Many of the ingredients were grown at school like the trombone squash, coriander and tomatoes for the salsa too.
Our class has been actively engaging in solving word problems involving multiplication and division through a variety of strategies. Over the past two weeks, students have been learning how to approach these problems using techniques such as drawing visual models, utilising number lines, and breaking problems down into smaller, manageable steps. This hands-on approach helps them not only understand the operations better but also apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios. We encourage you to continue this learning at home by pop quizzing your child with real-life scenarios!
We have been very busy acquiring and developing our reading and writing skills through writing book reviews. Children in 3 Dingoo published their very own book reviews to be uploaded on our school library catalogue for others to view. We hope it encourages other students to want to read and enjoy books as much as we did. 3 Dingoo would like to share their insights and opinions on the books they read in class as part of the Literacy session.
