Dear parents and carers.
Term 2 is now in full swing! Last week we enjoyed both the 3-6 and K-2 cross country carnivals and it was wonderful to see so many of you come along to cheer on the students.
There is plenty of work continuing to happen behind the scenes as we prepare for the 75th birthday celebrations on Friday 20th September. You will notice banners starting to go up around the school and more information will be coming to families soon. As the festivities will happen from 10am, we'd love for families to consider prioritising being here with their child to celebrate on the day if possible. There will be many ways that you can be involved on the day (and in the leadup to the day) so stay tuned for messages home through the SZApp and email.
I'm very excited about the P&C's latest initiative, the PEPS Cookbook. Our community is rich with various cultures and I look forward to seeing a cookbook which celebrates the diverse cuisines of our many families. At this stage, we are needing more recipes in order to make this project viable. If you have any recipe to share (a snack, a meal, a drink, a sweet treat, etc.) please do send it through to pepscookbook@gmail.com and you'll go into the running to win a $100 Visa gift card. Those who have already submitted recipes are already in the running!
Kind regards,
Justine Miller
Last Wednesday, our annual 3-6 Cross Country carnival was held. It was a sunny day, and students tried their hardest running the track, with cheers of support coming from parents, teachers and fellow students. It was fantastic to see students and teachers get into the spirit by wearing colours to support their houses. Congratulations to all students who participated on the day and gave it their all. Congratulations and best of luck to all students who were successful in making it to the Zone Cross Country carnival which will be held on Wednesday 22nd May, 2024.

K Glibanung have had a very busy start to the term. We are all growing and learning so much. Everyday we are improving our knowledge of sounds and letters and are learning to blend sounds to read words and write sentences. Our favourite parts of the day are participating in Sound Wall lessons and reading groups.
4 Buru have been busy exploring a wide range of subjects and activities. In science, they delved into the world of light, conducting experiments to observe reflections and refractions. Maths lessons focused on place value, with a highlight being the engaging bingo game that made learning even more enjoyable. In English, students are learning about persuasive writing and successfully convinced their teacher to allow them to construct a classroom in Minecraft Education! They've also been participating in a daily mile, contributing towards our sporting challenge while staying active. History lessons took them on a journey through time as they examined pictures of Parramatta from long ago and compared them to the present day. In PDHPE, they've been exploring and designing their own slides to promote healthy lifestyles. To foster creativity, students also tried their hand at Mondrian art, drawing inspiration from the vibrant Boogie Woogie artwork. It's been a busy start to the term, and we look forward to more adventures ahead!
