Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe that we are on the downhill run to the end of the term. School holidays are nearly upon us!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the P & C for your donation of $10,000.00 towards upgrades for our Robotics Program. It is greatly appreciated.
I also have some exciting news to share with our school community. This year marks the 75th Birthday of Parramatta East Public School and as such we will be having a big birthday celebration on ...
Friday, 20th September, 2024
Please keep this day free and spread the word to family and friends. There will be rides, showbags, food, performances and a whole lot more between the hours of 10.00am - 5.30pm and everyone is welcome. In fact the more the merrier!
On a slightly less positive note we were the unfortunate recipients of a break in on Friday of the long weekend. It was quite distressing to come back to school after 4 days to find that the Admin Block of the school had been broken into and senseless vandalism had occurred.
The Police were called and Forensics brought in to take fingerprint and DNA samples, which were prolific, so we are hopeful that the offenders will be caught fairly soon.

On Sunday 12 May 2024 it will be Mother’s Day. This gives children the opportunity to celebrate and honour the wonderful mothers, grandparents, aunts and carers in their lives.
Traditionally the P&C host a Mother’s Day stall to allow the children the opportunity to purchase gifts for that special someone.
This year the usual Mother’s Day stall will be held on Thursday 9 May 2024 in the school hall.
There is also the option to pre-order the gifts for your child to collect from school on the day of the Mother’s Day stall.
At the bottom of this message is an order form. A paper copy has been sent home with each student today also.
Final orders forms need to be returned to the school and full payment needs to be received in the P&C bank account by FRIDAY 3 MAY 2024. Orders received after this date will not be processed and the children will need to bring cash with them on the day to purchase items at the stall.
Payment for pre-orders is to be via direct deposit into the following account:
Account Name: PEPS P&C Association
BSB: 032 277
Account No: 331212
PLEASE ADD YOUR CHILDS NAME AND CLASS AS THE DESCRIPTION FOR ANY PAYMENTS MADE
Please note that the P&C is run by parent and carer volunteers and any monies raised are used to purchase items for the school for the benefit of your children.
Should you have any questions, please contact the P&C on ppe.pandc@gmail.com

We love using our maths tools to solve number problems. Here are our five favourite tools to use in classroom to help us become better mathematicians!
1. Wipe and write sheets with our trusty whiteboard markers.
2. 100 hundred bead string. We can count forwards and backwards by one, two, five and ten! Yr 1 can make larger numbers using tens and ones!
3. 20 bead string. This is fantastic for addition and subtraction games with numbers to 20.
4. Dice. Dice can make a game change every time we roll! We love to play 10 frame filler, Roll, add and graph and numbers to 10.
5. Cards. Beat that is a great game card game to play with a friend!
We are so thankful to have all of these lovely tools in our classroom to help us with our learning with fun hands-on activities.
*Mrs Adams can't wait to show them how to use the dominoes!
6 Pemulwuy have had the pleasure of having Pablo in their class this week. Pablo has had a wonderful time learning about many different things with his peers. We have delved into the world of fractions and learnt how to find equivalent fractions, add and subtract unlike fractions and solve some tough fraction problems in pairs. In writing, we have explored our creativity this term by creating our own texts on a character's journey of belonging. We learnt all about adjectival and adverbial clauses, figurative language, 1st person perspective and the different types of sentences. Pablo was excited to read the very interesting stories composed by the wonderful authors in 6 Pemulwuy and he can't wait to read the published versions. 6 Pemulwuy also taught Pablo about the Australian government in history and the elements of art which came into play when creating his little art tile.
It has been a great term of learning and 6 Pemulwuy can't wait for the holidays. Bring on Term 2!
