Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome Back!
We have enjoyed being back at school and welcoming your children back for the 2024 school year. It is always lovely to see the happy and excited faces!
Yesterday we also welcomed our new Kindergarten cohort with not one tear - at least not from the students!
We are looking forward to another exciting year of learning and opportunities.
We have received some feedback around fundraising activities and 'special celebration' days that we held in 2023. To provide some context, given that 2023 saw us coming out of many restrictions relating to the pandemic, we tried very hard to provide as many opportunities as we could for our students to 'make up' for what they had missed out on during the previous few years.
We are very cognisant of the impact that the cost of living is having on everyone and as such have made the decision that this year we are going to endeavour to minimise what our families have to outlay throughout the year.
As such you should notice quite a 'paring back' of activities that you have to pay for.
I would like to take this opportunity to let our families know that this year is our schools 75th Birthday and there are big plans in the pipeline. Please make sure that you keep checking emails, the Schoolzine App, our Facebook page and notes that are sent home for details on how we are going to celebrate!

Welcome back to our returning community members and a big welcome to all those new members of the school community for 2024!
The first P&C meeting for 2024 will be held on Monday 19 February 2024 at 7pm in the school staff room.
The first meeting is the AGM and a time when nominations are taken for all the P&C Executive roles – the President, Vice-President (2 roles available), Secretary and Treasurer. Whether you are new to the school or have been part of the community for years, this may be the year that you want to become involved in the P&C.
General P&C meetings are held on the third Monday of each month (during school terms only) and provide a great opportunity to hear from the school Executive about the exciting things happening throughout the school.
There is absolutely no minimum requirement of time or activities and members are only encouraged to assist accordingly to their capacity and to work in with their schedule. Historically the Executive members of the P&C have worked either in a full-time or part-time capacity.
If you would prefer not to take an Executive role, there are many other opportunities available to actively contribute as a member of the P&C.
The P&C’s main purpose is to raise funds to provide the school with additional resources that directly benefit our children. We also provide any required support to the school as necessary, whether that is volunteering at school events or covering library books.
In 2023 we had many successful fundraising events including the Election Day BBQ, Easter Raffle, Hot Cross bun drive, Mothers day and Fathers day stalls, Halloween mufti day, and Christmas Raffle with raised funds being donated to the school for new readers.
Last year also saw the P&C run the inaugural “Thank you” breakfast to the teachers and staff on the last day of the school term. The feedback we received from the school community was overwhelmingly positive. We are hoping to make this a yearly event to allow the community to show their appreciation for the amazing teachers and staff.
We want 2024 to be bigger and better than anything we have ever achieved. We can only do this with the support of the community. We hope to see you at the AGM, monthly meetings or around the school grounds at events. Any questions please reach out to ppe.pandc@gmail.com or you can follow us on Facebook.
