Earlier this week a link was sent out via the SZApp for parents to sign up to help prepare and serve a BBQ breakfast for the teachers on the last day of school (Friday 15th December.) If you are able to help, let us know by completing this form.
We again remind the community that at the commencement of each year, the P&C Executive roles are vacated and at the first meeting of the year, nominations are taken for the Executive roles. We are hopeful that next year more people will be willing to actively participate in the P&C and either take on Executive roles, or alternatively be an active member of the P&C.
The P&C’s main purpose is to raise funds to provide the school with additional resources that directly benefit our children. We also provide any required support to the school as necessary, whether that is volunteering at school events or covering library books.
The current Executive members of the P&C work either in a full-time or part-time capacity. The amount of work involved as part of the P&C is completely manageable and only gets easier the more hands there are to help. There is no minimum requirement of hours required to participate and members are only encouraged to assist according to their capacity.
All donations will need to be sent in by Friday 8th December. Thank you for your generosity and support.
On Thursday 23rd November, we held our final Disco Day for 2023. Stage 2 teachers and students decorated the hall in stars and planets for a disco that was out of this world! Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 enthusiastically participated, lighting up the hall with their glowsticks and enjoying the music and games throughout the disco. We were very impressed with the costumes; astronauts, aliens and rocket ships, just to name a few.
On Thursday 16th November all the children at PEPS celebrated a whole Day of Mathematics. All children participated in a range of Mathematic based activities and completed the great day with Mathematical based art activities.
Children in Kindergarten participated in Mathematics Olympiad and cooking mini Pizza and making Milkshakes. In Stage One children completed symmetry activities and then made a kite which they eagerly tested down on the back grass. Thankfully the winds opened up and allowed a fun session of flying kites. In Stage Two children completed pattern making and designing using a x and y axis. Last but not least Stage Three entertained teachers by completing a whole school orienteering course and also building the tallest straw tower possible .
It was exciting for all children to share their enthusiasm in Mathematics with the whole school.
Last week, 3 Murawung had the pleasure of welcoming one of our parents to teach us a little bit about the science behind lightning and how to fly drones! Using a Van de Graaff Generator, we learnt how electricity is generated and how electrons flow and resist and we made Miss Andrews' and students' hair stand up. Each student was lucky enough to learn how to fly a drone through an obstacle course, a task that proved tricker than anticipated! Finally, we all had a turn to remote control the robot dog around the hall and to make it kick a soccer ball into a goal. Thank you Mr Dumbleton for your time, we were so impressed and excited and could stop talking about our morning with you!
