Dear Parents and Carers,
It is wonderful to see so many parents and students at school this week for our goal setting interviews. This was a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and discuss your child’s goals. I hope you have found this process helpful.
Parents, grandparents and community members are invited to join our ANZAC service next week at school on Wednesday 9th April at 11:45am in the school hall.
Easter is just around the corner and on Friday 11th April we will hold our annual Easter Hat Parades. Hopefully all students are busy at home making their Easter hats and joining in the colouring in competition. Parents, grandparents and community members are invited to attend our K-2 Easter Hat Parade at 11:45am and our Years 3-6 Easter Hat Parade at 12:40pm under our large COLA. Our P & C are currently selling Easter raffle tickets. The raffle will be drawn at our Easter Hat Parades.
Wishing all our families a safe and happy holiday as Term One ends Friday 11th April and students return to school on Wednesday 30th April.
Kind regards,
Justine Miller

1 Gula have started the year busy with lots of learning! In English, we’ve been exploring different writing techniques and discovering how using adjectives can make our writing more interesting and engaging. In Art, we’ve been learning about warm and cool colours. During Maths lessons, we’ve been using a variety of tools to help us add and subtract with confidence. It’s been great to see students building their skills and working together to solve problems! 1 Gula have enjoyed reading a variety of books, learning new sounds during UFLI lessons and practising their typing skills on Chromebook.
On Tuesday 25th March 2025, Parramatta East Public School came alive with vibrant colours and joyous celebrations in honour of Harmony Day. Students embraced the theme of unity and cultural diversity by dressing in stunning cultural costumes or the bright, cheerful colour orange, symbolising harmony and inclusivity.
Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of activities designed to celebrate their own cultures while learning about those of others. From sharing stories and traditions to discovering new customs, the event fostered a sense of community and mutual respect among all.
The highlight of the day was when classes came together to write a Harmony Day pledge, a collective promise to continue embracing diversity, promoting inclusion, and respecting one another. It was a wonderful reminder that every culture brings something special to our school community.
It was a fantastic day of learning, sharing, and celebrating our differences—helping to strengthen the values of respect and friendship within our school.
5 Goolagong have been busy exploring their creativity and building their literacy skills. Students enjoyed creating detailed self-portraits that reflect their unique and wonderful personalities. In English, they have been working on developing their comprehension skills and improving their spelling. They've also been planning and writing imaginative narrative stories, using a range of vocabulary and a clear structure to engage their readers. As Easter approaches, students have enjoyed taking part in the school’s Easter colouring competition.
PEPS Choir Sing the Day and Night Away at PULSE Alive
On Thursday 20th March, the PEPS choir had a wonderful time singing and dancing as part of a 1,000 strong massed choir at the Ken Rosewall Arena in Homebush! We disco danced, created waves, sparkled like diamonds and sang our hearts out to perform a spectacular concert. The choir worked so hard at learning all 14 songs! They committed to 2 practices each week at school lunchtimes PLUS 2 full day rehearsals with the Pulse Alive conductors and choir. WOW! What an amazing effort, you have made us all so proud!
3 Warin have been working extremely hard this term across all areas of their learning. We have been improving the fluency and expression of our reading during guided reading groups and working on our comprehension. Students utilised their problem solving skills making a bridge out of paddle pop sticks and created a magician’s potion shelf which links to our writing program. We explored the different types of lines during maths lessons and created an artwork using our knowledge of lines and shapes.
On Tuesday, 25th March, our school ministers had the opportunity to attend the Halogen Leadership conference. While we were there we met many leadership icons. There was Olympic swimmer Emma McKeon, famous screenwriter Thomas Duncan Watt, bondi rescue lifeguard Anthony Carrol, and finally, the real life Moana actress for the movie coming out next year, Catherine Lagai. All these wonderful leaders taught the importance of being a good leader, and shared their experiences and hardships. We were truly inspired by them, and have many new perspectives on how to be a great leader. We are excited to showcase the traits that we have learned this school year!

K Burudyara read a book called "Giraffe's Can't Dance" written by Giles Andrea. This book is about Gerald the giraffe who cannot dance very well because he has crooked knees and thin legs. Then he meets a small cricket who encourages him to listen to the sounds around him and dance. The students really enjoyed listening to this story and even learnt about different verbs. KBurudyara then wrote a sentence describing what Gerald can do, using verbs such as spin, run, dance and leap.
