Dear Parents and Carers,
As we are well over the midway point of Term 1, it is a great opportunity to pause and reflect on how the school year is progressing. It has been an exciting and productive start, with students, staff, and families all embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with the beginning of a new academic year. It’s hard to believe that we are already over halfway through the term.
It’s always a big transition at the start of a new school year, but I’m proud to say that our students have shown resilience and enthusiasm, and determination in their adjustment to new routines, new teachers, and, for many, new classmates. Whether they are returning for another year or joining us for the first time, students have shown an impressive level of maturity and have embraced the exciting challenges ahead of them.
Our teachers are passionate about creating dynamic and inclusive learning environments, where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and work collaboratively. It has been wonderful to witness the strong start students have made.
Outside of the classroom, many students have already begun participating in a variety of activities. Our sports teams are getting back into action, and our vibrant arts program that continues to thrive. Of particular note is our new band program which has gone from strength to strength with the largest amount of students involved that we have ever seen.
Looking ahead, we have a number of exciting events lined up for the remainder of Term 1. The Easter Hat Parade, Parent-Teacher interviews, Halogen Young Leaders Day, PSSA Knockout Competitions, mufti days and raffles just a few of the events we are looking forward to.
Thank you for your continued support,
Justine Miller
On Friday, the 7th of March, our school ministers had the opportunity to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference at Rosehill Gardens, Grand Pavilion. Throughout the event, we engaged in interactive activities and listened to inspiring speeches that broadened our understanding of leadership. We also had the chance to collaborate with student leaders from other schools, exchanging ideas on how to create a positive impact within our school community. Through these discussions, we gained valuable insights into the qualities and virtues of effective leadership. We are eager to implement the fresh ideas we gathered to help and improve our school's environment!

This week 5 Baludarri have been stressed about their NAPLAN tests! We are so glad they are over! Roary did not enjoy having to sit through the tests!

K Gunalung explored the fascinating world of materials and their properties. The students experimented with both dry and wet materials to see how they interacted. They were excited to see the different changes when the materials were mixed together. One of the highlights of the lesson was making playdough! The children mixed flour, salt, and water, watching how the dry ingredients turned into soft, squishy dough. Roary, was there to help and made the experience even more enjoyable. Roary's enthusiasm encouraged the children to get involved and explore. The students loved watching Roary learn alongside them. This hands-on activity helped them understand the properties of materials in a fun and engaging way. It was a day full of creativity, exploration, and excitement, and the students can’t wait for their next adventure in learning!
